Born from the creative minds of Mao, Tsurugi, Aki, Mizuki, and Sora in February 2005, Sadie draws its name from the English word "sad," as revealed by the band's vocalist, Mao. However, artistic differences led to Sora's departure in January 2006. March of the same year welcomed Kei into the lineup, taking up the mantle to replace Sora.
