Established in 2008, this musical powerhouse identified their genre as "Technical Melodic Speed Metal." The duo, Shiren and Tenge Fuyuki, laid the foundation in 2008, and as their stage presence grew, so did their ensemble, welcoming more talented members into the fold.
The band's moniker, "Ankimo" (あんきも), a suggestion by Fuki, paved the way for the full name "Unlucky Morpheus," crafted to echo the essence of the initial nickname. In a groundbreaking move, their 2018 single "CADAVER / REDAVAC" showcased a unique approach, featuring one track with an identical composition to the other but played in reverse—a world-first endeavor.
Not resting on their laurels, the group introduced a sub-unit in December 2020 named QUADRATUM, dedicated to instrumental covers. This side project boasts the talents of Jinya, Jill, FUMIYA, and Ogawa Hiroyuki, further expanding the horizons of Unlucky Morpheus' musical exploration.
