Ryoji Shinomoto + NiNi Music

Folk metal with full samurai-meets-pirate campaign mode energy, Ryoji Shinomoto joins forces with Nini Music from Taiwan, turning “Turn the Tide” into a glorious pan-Asian metal collision of shamisen-flavored melody, cinematic strings, and horizon-breaking power-metal lift. The MV is pure nerd fuel: RYUJIN’s melodic death and power-metal discipline locks into Nini’s erhu-led folk architecture, making the whole track feel like the soundtrack to a naval boss battle between warring clans and ghost ships. Because this is a Japan–Taiwan collaboration, it’s worth flagging clearly for your format: the project is not exclusively Japanese, even though Ryoji Shinomoto’s side is firmly rooted in Japan’s modern extreme-metal scene. The title needs no hidden poetry—“Turn the Tide” already captures the song’s battle-reversal drama perfectly, and the MV visualizes that momentum with full cinematic force. At this stage it reads as a standalone collaboration single.
