Born in Tokyo’s Udagawa district, MAD JAMIE is an idol-punk-rock project led by Akubi Kanjosen (感情線あくび) and powered by the gloriously confrontational slogan “Kawaii is Fxxk.” Originally launched as a four-member idol group in 2021, MAD JAMIE evolved into Akubi’s solo vehicle in 2023, combining punk defiance, idol immediacy and live-band firepower. She designs her own stage outfits, writes increasingly personal lyrics and treats every concert like group therapy with louder amplifiers and considerably more middle fingers. The third album HYPER NATURAL pushes that formula deeper into emotional, proudly imperfect territory—cute enough to disarm you, fierce enough to rearrange the furniture.
