Japanese rock band MARKET SHOP STORE will disband on September 13, 2026, bringing its decade-long career to an end on the anniversary of its formation.
The group announced the decision through its official X account on June 10. Its brief statement said the band would cease activities at the 10-year milestone but did not provide a reason for the breakup or details about the members’ future plans.
MARKET SHOP STORE formed on September 13, 2016. The band currently consists of vocalist MAME, guitarist Kasumi, bassist NANO and drummer Chiiba. Its official profile now describes Mudboat, released on July 29, as its final single.
The band will complete a final run of performances before closing its career with an anniversary concert at Shibuya Chelsea Hotel in Tokyo on September 13. Its remaining schedule also includes appearances in Yokohama, Nagoya, Okayama, Osaka and Okinawa.
The final date will therefore serve both as MARKET SHOP STORE’s 10th-anniversary performance and its farewell show.
