DRUGS will disband after its scheduled performance on October 2, 2026, the band announced in a statement.
The decision follows a series of events involving member Yoshiatsu. According to the statement, the band reviewed the circumstances and held discussions with Yoshiatsu about its future activities. During those talks, Yoshiatsu expressed his intention to refrain from activities for the time being.
DRUGS said it respected that decision and continued to consider whether the band could move forward. The group described Yoshiatsu as the initiator and producer of the project, saying his role was central to the band’s concept and foundation. After reviewing several options, the members decided not to continue with a replacement member and instead to bring DRUGS to an end.
The band said its currently announced performances will go ahead as planned with a support drummer.
DRUGS apologized to fans and related parties for the sudden announcement. The remaining members said they intend to continue making music together in a new form after the band closes this chapter.
The statement also said comments on the announcement have been disabled out of consideration for those involved.
