Visual kei / experimental heavy metal titans DIR EN GREY have launched the first chapter of their ambitious YouTube event series with “LIVESTREAM 5 DAYS – YouTube Exclusive Setlist by Members – 2026.06.19 [DAY1] Kyo”. Curated by vocalist Kyo (京) himself, the stream resurrects the band’s legendary member-selected setlist concept, transforming the archive into a sonic excavation site where forgotten gems, emotional deep cuts, and fan-favorite bruisers collide. Rather than a conventional live upload, the performance feels like Kyo opening a vault of controlled chaos, each selection revealing another layer of the band’s ever-mutating musical DNA. The event is part of a five-week YouTube premiere series, giving each member a chance to reshape the DIR EN GREY universe through their own lens. The band originates from Osaka. An upcoming album, Mortal Downer, was confirmed and released in 2026.
