ASTERISM announced on September 2 that drummer MIO will temporarily suspend his activities with the heavy metal band because of ongoing health concerns.
According to the group’s official notice, a doctor advised MIO that he requires an extended period of rest and recuperation. The band said it had therefore decided to place his health first, allowing him to concentrate on treatment and recovery under medical supervision.
ASTERISM will remain active during the hiatus. Guitarist HAL-CA and bassist MIYU will carry the group forward as a duo while MIO is away. The band said further information about its scheduled performances and other activities would be released through its official website and social media channels once arrangements have been finalised.
No precise diagnosis was disclosed, and ASTERISM did not provide an estimated date for MIO’s return. The group apologised to fans and industry partners for the concern caused by the announcement and asked for their continued understanding.
The hiatus has also been confirmed through ASTERISM’s official website, which carries the same announcement published across the band’s social media accounts.
