The unmistakable voice of Yuko Suzuhana — best known as the frontwoman of Wagakki Band — returns with a new music video from her solo project, 江戸時空列車 (Edo Jikū Ressha), literally translating to “Edo Time-Space Train.” The title evokes a conceptual journey that bridges Japan’s Edo period with the present, blending historical imagery and modern motion into a single flowing narrative.
Musically and visually, the MV leans heavily into traditional Japanese aesthetics, further elevated by the appearance of Daisuke Kaminaga, whose shakuhachi (traditional Japanese bamboo flute) performance adds an earthy, breath-driven counterpoint to Suzuhana’s expressive vocals. The result is a refined fusion piece where ancient timbres and contemporary arrangement coexist rather than compete.
This solo work is closely connected to Hanafugetsu (華風月) — a project name that combines hana (flower), kaze (wind), and tsuki (moon), symbolizing the harmony of nature, impermanence, and classical Japanese beauty. Hanafugetsu is known for blending wagakki (traditional Japanese instruments) with modern composition, often sitting at the intersection of classical tradition and progressive arrangement.
