The visual kei / kirakira-kei rock act VIVARUSH (ビバラッシュ) has unveiled a new single titled 「KUWABARA!!!!」 — a phrase that literally means “mulberry field!!!!” but carries a much deeper cultural nuance. In Japan, kuwabara is traditionally uttered as a charm to ward off misfortune — similar to saying “knock on wood” in the West.
About the New Single – 「KUWABARA!!!!」
Rather than focusing on literal or religious meaning, the title embraces playful superstition and tongue-in-cheek humor. According to the band’s own commentary, the track does not satirize spirituality or faith. Instead, it channels lighthearted, slightly surreal themes rooted in everyday sayings and exaggerated pop expression.
True to VIVARUSH’s colorful kirakira-kei identity, “KUWABARA!!!!” blends catchy hooks, flamboyant visuals, and irreverent charm — transforming a traditional phrase into a high-energy anthem packed with personality.
