Kyoto alternative pop-rock quartet Viewtrade demand a seasonal encore on セプテンバー・セプテンバー (Seputenbā Seputenbā, “September September”), released September 25. Catchy melodies and buoyant rhythms carry the melancholy of summer slipping away, while the lyrics imagine restarting it through sheer imaginative stubbornness. Their ’90s–2000s alt-rock and J-pop foundations give the premise its charm: the calendar advances, but the band keeps reaching for the repeat button.
