Kawasaki’s own pop-rock stalwarts, the three-piece crew SHISHAMO, have just dropped their sprawling 3-CD double album SHISHAMOでした!!! — a career anthology curated by the band members themselves that blurs greatest hits with deep cuts, totaling 48 tracks and accompanied by a treasure trove of live footage on Blu-ray. This release, translating to “It was SHISHAMO!!!” in that classic on-stage goodbye spirit, arrives as part of the band’s final act in 2026, capping over a decade of punchy Japanese rock anthems and heartfelt songwriting with a definitive, fan-centric collection.
They officially announced in September 2025 that the band will end activities after their final solo concerts on June 13–14, 2026 at Todoroki Stadium (Uvance Todoroki Stadium) in Kawasaki — the city where they originally formed. After those performances, SHISHAMO will cease as an active band.
