Japanese performer Rea Fujishiro has begun an indefinite hiatus from activities with the group Kitto Taisetsu Datta, citing ongoing health issues.
The group announced the decision on Oct. 2, saying Fujishiro had continued to experience health problems. After discussions involving Fujishiro and those around her, the group decided that she should suspend activities indefinitely.
The hiatus takes effect Oct. 2, 2026. A date for her return has not been determined, and the group said it will provide further information once a decision has been made.
During the hiatus, Fujishiro will not participate in live performances or other events. Performances and activities by Kitto Taisetsu Datta will continue with the other members, excluding Fujishiro.
The group also announced that sales of products requiring Fujishiro’s participation, including cheki photographs and other related items, will be suspended. It said further details concerning the hiatus will be communicated individually to members and staff in consideration of Fujishiro’s privacy.
Fans and attendees were also asked not to question members or staff about the situation at events or at the group’s café.
In a separate post on X, Fujishiro apologized for the sudden announcement and for causing concern and inconvenience among fans.
The announcement was issued by Kitto Taisetsu Datta and Fujishiro’s X account, @kitto_rea. Independent confirmation was not provided in the supplied material.
