On January 13, 2026, Tokyo’s legendary 渋谷 CLUB QUATTRO became the stage for Nikoん’s self-presented 新春謝罪会見 (“New Year Apology Press Conference”), a brisk, dynamic live set that feels like a cheeky tag-in between Tokyo punk gigs and DIY art-rock salons. The two-piece—guitarist/vocalist オオスカ and bassist/vocalist マナミオーガキ—lock into tight, punchy grooves with song titles that read like glitchy micro-stories: from the stagger-strum of とぅ〜ばっど to the anthemic pogo-pulse of step by step and the glimpses of fuzz-shaded riffing on Tokey-Dokey. A mid-set nod to a flood of circle cements the band’s reverence for raw, analogue rock energy. Throughout the performance, their interplay feels like watching a gearbox with only two cogs — minimalist, mechanical, but highly effective — thrusting the crowd forward with visceral punch and a tiny grin of subversion.
