Japanese idol group NANIMONO announced on Sept. 30 that member Rinka Shion will suspend her activities indefinitely while she undergoes medical treatment.
According to a statement from the group’s management, Shion had been experiencing health problems and underwent medical examinations. She was diagnosed with endometriosis, a condition affecting the lining of the uterus.
After discussing her condition and treatment with her doctor, Shion and the management decided that prioritizing further examinations and treatment was necessary. Her activity suspension will begin on Sept. 30 and will remain in effect until further notice.
The timing of Shion’s return has not yet been determined. NANIMONO said the decision will be made based on the progress of her treatment and medical advice, with an announcement to follow once plans have been finalized.
The group apologized to fans and others involved for causing concern and said its members and staff would support Shion while she focuses on her health and treatment.
NANIMONO also asked fans to continue supporting Shion warmly and to remain patient until she is able to return to activities.
The announcement was posted on NANIMONO’s X account, alongside an official notice from the group’s management, OTONA CHILD.
